There are many serpent mound structures in the Golan Heights and western Syria viewable in Google Earth. Here is a Google Maps link that shows four such structures close together. CLICK HERE
This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
I clicked but it won't go to the page...
ReplyDeleteThere are many serpent mound structures in the Golan Heights and western Syria viewable in Google Earth. Here is a Google Maps link that shows four such structures close together. I apologize for not knowing how to get the link to be "clickable", you may have to cut and paste. dc.

ReplyDeleteRe the Golan Heights/Yosifon Reservoir:
ReplyDeleteWow! Lots of fun archeology out there.
The more I look, the more I suspect every feature in this aerial view is man made - except the topography itself.
Zooming out, going hundred's of miles to the side and randomly zooming back in: there are still man made structures everywhere. I guess man has been here a very long time (as much as a million years?).
