This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Yes a mound. But a burial mound?
ReplyDeleteAccording to a 1883 map of this area, it says "indian graves"

So,I am assuming it may be.
Then again, to be positive would require excavation- not happening.
Someone has removed rocks and (one large quartz) and fashioned a campfire.
This is on part of the Hatchet Pond Reservation.
