This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

A small serpent pile
Leave it to my sharp eyed friend to spot something subtle like this in the dead leaves. It is a wavey line of stones, which I tried to indicate in the companion photo. The woods in Carlisle have all kinds of subtle things in them.
