A hiking trail I can’t recall the name of. Lots of stone rows and piles of stones on stone. Hilly and rocky and this is just a few of them. Walking back I happened to look down and I found a flint spearhead right in the middle of the trail.

This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
One thing that impresses me about Tim M's writings is that it is such a different perspective than the ones I hear from NEARA and my own circle of acquaintances. I love arrowheads but I never saw one anywhere near any rock piles.
