This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
I just like the phrase "a shadow on the rock". To me it means something special: you see something out of the corner of the eye and it is that particular moment when you begin to realize you are at a rock pile site, the transition from not knowing to knowing, the moment of enlightenment.
