This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Tim MacSweeney sends in some "mound" photos
I believe these are from Tim's back yard. [Click on the photos to enlarge them.]
Peter is right, this is in my yard, by the now abandoned chicken coop. A dozen or so chickens spent a couple years excavating the site.
ReplyDeleteI think the mounds are turtles, very similar to some I've seen here at Rock Piles.
The idea is that patterns exist and this is just one of them.
