Things in rock piles

We saw this pile a few days ago, on the way to Horse Hill. See the little white thing in back? Here is a closeup:
A carefully crushed Budweiser can. Maybe meaningless.

Here at the top on what I called the "bald spot" was a pile well covered with debris and lichens.
Cleaning it up a bit, there were three pieces of old brick in the pile. FFC thought they looked colonial, perhaps because they were a bit flatter than usual bricks.
