This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Question about Lincoln RI
Does anyone know about a rock pile site there? Any info would be welcome.
It's been awhile and I don't recall anything overwhelming, but there are rock piles at Lime Rock Preserve, and the Handy Pond and Eagle Nest Conservation Areas. The mills of the late 1800's likely destroyed much of what was there along the Blackstone River long ago.

ReplyDeleteHeard of some piles in the Lincoln Woods State Park around Quinsnicket Hill.
ReplyDeleteA small perched boulder too.
Oops, I meant to mention Lincoln Woods. Good catch Larry.
