According to him, a tree falls over leaving a root mass, from which springs a birch tree, then most of the original root mass decays, leaving the new tree's roots in the air.
This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
