From my perspective most of the fun is on Saturday, with Norman Muller talking at 2:15 about "Glastonbury Mountain Cairns" and with Fred Meli in the after dinner time-slot talking about Nipsachuck.
This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
I will attending the Spring NEARA Meeting and once again be setting up a book sale table with selection of used books and our own publications. After nearly a decade of research and writing we have finally published a comprehensive Handbook/Field Guide to stone structures in Northeastern U.S. It covers both agricultural stone structures and Native American stone structures.
ReplyDeleteWe look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting and discussing the latest research and preservation efforts.
