This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Possible Ceremonial Structures from Johnstown, PA
A reader from PA sent pictures and wrote to ask if the features looked Native American? Some of them do, to me.Note the four blocks of rock:And the sizeable rock pile:Here is something familiar:
That first picture of the rock wedged in between 2 small boulders is eerie. I can see a skull like face staring back at me when I enlarge the picture. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place....
I'd encourage the person to return to the site in the fall and clear away some of the leaves on the last pile to make it more visible. The site is certainly worth a closer look.
