This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Ruminations from the Distant Hills
A blog post comment led me back tothis blog. It is impressive in its love of the woods. That being a topic area I have been thinking is a broader category into which this "Rock Piles" blog fits. If you have not visited their recently, it is worth another visit.
It's Monday night, any new stone tools from this past weekend Peter? Maybe a nice Brewerton or Stark point? I have been eschewing the woods for farm fields lately. No finds yet but I hope I am getting closer.
I found only fragments but, like you I have been skipping the woods in favor of searching the corn fields. I saw one more cornfield turned into a development - one less place to explore.
