Field Clearing? An interesting rock pile next to Harvard Rd, Bolton MA

I cannot tell if this was dumped un-ceremoniously along an outcrop. But the piece of quartz at the near end suggests intent. You can see from the other direction that the pile is pretty messy:Or perhaps it is snaking around. In this last picture, the view is to the south and the road it to the right.
