


It is very hard to take decent color photos in the rain, without a flash or a tripod. Occasionally I would hold still enough to get a decent picture. And with all the photos in the rain, some with the flash on by mistake, I can now be pretty clear, those "orbs" are drops of water on the lens, catching and reflecting some light from the flash:

Thanks for the ID on the fringed gay wings. I was just out with my boys today, looking for wild leeks, and we stumbled on these. I didn't know what they were and didn't have my camera to take a picture!
ReplyDeleteWe found a cool raccoon skull, including the bottom jaw, which we brought home.
I also get "orbs" from mosquitoes and black flies with a flash.
