A couple of other things from walking in this southern part of Nagog Hill. A wall corner pile:
I thought this next was interesting, a depression in the ground with a single small standing stone.
Like a grave.
This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
I have recently visited this site. This site looks a lot like the ones around the stone chamber about a mile away. Small stones piled on top of a large stone. I don't buy that all of these stone walls were created by farmers to clear there fields. Some of the stones piles don't make sense like semi circles or the walls are to close together to be convenient for plowing.
