Terry Deveau from NEARA sends this conference invitation.
This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
I heave a sigh or relief seeing that this is a conference about facts and speculations about facts - rather than about subjective experiences and "getting amp'ed up about the connection to the earth".
ReplyDeleteSpiritual connections of Medicine Wheels....Megalithomania....it seems that this subject of -let's call it- "antiquities" is under assault by people seeking a shared religious experience. Over on the NEARA Yahoo group I have been arguing that NEARA should avoid participating in New Age spirituality but it feels like a losing battle.
For what it is worth, it is the intention of this blog to focus on a shared reality.
