Click here for a link to the Exploring Chenango County, New York blog by Donald A. Windsor. The link will take you to his post on the new rock pile site near Ludlow Creek.
This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
Those are epic rock piles.
ReplyDeleteI should add that these rock piles are threatened. The DEC foresters who notified Don of the location of these piles were out there to mark trees for logging. You might be able to see the blue spray paint on the tree in the background if you click on the first photo on Don's blog.
