This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Small Stark Point
This "point" is from Concord, MA and made of beige quartzite:Unfortunately I never dreamed that the small flake I was picking up would turn out to be an arrowhead so I missed getting a picture of it in situ. But this is the kind of environment I found it in:
Wonderful. I love the material, I have flakes of this stuff but no tools. The color is very pretty. Was the rhyolite piece in the "in situ" picture not also a tool?
