Like Chris, I went out after some of the recent rains, and saw flakes but not much else.
Perhaps a broken axe of some kind.
This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
Great materials, looks like a great spot to look. That quartz piece that looks like it could be the barb of a stemmed point would have got my heart rate up for sure! More rain is coming...
ReplyDeleteYou might enjoy looking around in these fields. I haven't seen an unbroken piece here in more than a year - but I am putting in many fewer hours than you.
