This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
A similar problem exists (or existed) at a stone mound site on the spur of a mountain near Alburtis, PA. The owner of a small ski resort set up a mountain bike trail through the stone mounds, and he was told that the mounds were Native American. I believe he rerouted the trail, but I'm not sure. Just another problem to contend with.
