    It is sad and strange that none of these materials are on display at the Smithsonian. I looked in vain (veign? vane?) for any sign of an arrowhead, when I visited those museums in Washington.

  2. I assume you went to the Museum of the American Indian, or whatever it is called. There they have pull-out drawers with projectile points of various kinds. You'll find nothing of the kind at the other Smithsonian museums.
