This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
I often pass along stone mound images from Rock Piles to my facebook friend Shelley - a cousin of Farley Mowat who wrote Never Cry Wolf who lives in B.C. In turn, she often shows some First Nations elders these images (on a phone or a lap top or something - and they very often say, "Just like here." I expect these grandmas to laugh and say "Just like here!"
There is a pretty intelligent comment. I also have my doubts about the antiquity and even the ceremonial nature of the pile.
