How about these Boletus? These are the ones that make the Russians' eyes glaze.
This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
I am wrong about the Russians. Apparently this red-topped boletus is not their favorite red-topped boletus. This one was yellow underneath and they like the one that is white underneath - more subtle than this American was prepared for.
