This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
I take pleasure in dismantling these when I come across them, as well as erasing other kinds of vandalism. I can reduce a sea of whimsical rock stacks to a natural-looking landscape in a matter of seconds. I'm not sure how I would react to new rock stacks among other, older piles or features; how could you ever put things back the way they were?
