I took this because of the nice fall colors (muted a bit in the photo) and because of the sense that one is supposed to look through the spaces:
But maybe there is something more interesting in the photo. Do you see it?This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
Possible triangular manitou stone.
ReplyDeleteLook a bit further to the right :)
ReplyDeleteIf this is a Rorschach Test, I see a human behind embedded in the boulder to the right.
ReplyDeleteI see more of a cat. I thought Tim would be all over this.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the Black Lichen and the small stones on the larger stone on the left. I was just looking now, thinking you might be posting those this morning. I observed there was a tree growing inside something that could be said to resemble a split boulder. There is something about that big dark roundish stone that makes one begin to think "Possibly Zoomorphic/Anthropomorphic" - what is to the left of it? More exposed bedrock?
ReplyDeleteAnd you caught the light just right to have the shadows accentuate the "eyes" and all just right.
ReplyDeleteLooks a bit like a Pug...
ReplyDeleteLooks like one of the views of the North Salem NY pedestaled Boulder - as someone mentioned at the Facebook CSL group..
ReplyDeleteWish they would come over here and make their comments.
