I recently found a hardaway dalton triangle and I identified it by the fact it's 100% fluted. The other triangle I found is an alamance and both are paleo most likely around 10,000 years old. Both found at Point Judith Pond this summer
Really nice. Does anyone recognize the green material?
ReplyDeleteI agree that the first one is probably a Hardaway-Dalton - it looks like a green quartz, or chrysoprase. Not sure of the source of this, but it could have come down in the glacial drift. The second point is more likely a Late Woodland Levanna Triangle - note the trilateral symmetry which is characteristic of those points.
ReplyDeletethank you , Curtis!
ReplyDeleteIt's most likely a hardaway pointbecause it's notched but you can't see it. Most likely resharpened. The quartz point is paleo because it's heavily ground I think. Levanna points are not ground
