North side of route 57, Tolland, MA just west of where Richardson Brook crosses road.
This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

ReplyDeleteThe description of the location is a bit confusing. On the USGS map, Richardson Brook joins Moody Brook, which then flows into the Farmington River on the Tolland/Sandisfield line. Richardson Brook's headwaters are at a pond just to the south of Route 57. Is the site just north of that pond?

ReplyDeleteThe site is just north of that pond at the headwaters of Richardson Brook. It is on the North side of New Boston Road (route 57) and west of this location approximately 1/4 mile or so. The site is behind stonewalls and there are numerous rock piles.
