This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

O dear blogger, I am here in search of rock piles. I live in Michigan where I find various kinds of rock remnants. I particularly like your site and the great attention to detail you put in it. You have inspired me to get a new camera and start my own version for the Midwest area. Thanks again.

I hope to see it. Thanks.
My father used to tell a story that when he was selectman in Becket, Massachusetts he remembers reading a very old town document about three extremely large stone mounds near the Becket/Washington border. It said in this document that these mounds were passage markers for a certain Native American tribe that migrated through the region. My father has searched for these mounds and has never found them. I have recently decided to take a look myself but have had no such luck in finding them. I am curious if you have heard of such mounds in that area.
Thanks...
N.
