This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

"v-shaped boulder row?"
You mean the little side wall at the near end? So the tip of the "V" is towards the viewer?
What is the significance of a V-shaped stone row?
One possibility is: to mark the upper and lower extreme positions of the sun, moon, or something else that changes seasonally.
There’s a nice one on a hilltop near here. It is a “V” but also has a center line so it looks like the footprint of a bird. If you stand at the bottom of the V, the center line points south, and the left and right sides of the V point about 60 degrees to the southeast and southwest. Too much snow for photos right now.
Then there's this ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Huron_deer_hunt_V_Champlain.jpg
