This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Rock piles from a site with a pig skull
There was a pig skull here, which destinguishes this site. Otherwise it was a place with little bumps and of outcrop next to a swamp. The swamp is a headwater of more than one watershed. Here are some nice sample piles, including ones on the ground: Also piles built up on boulder supports:A beautiful spot and, as I said earlier, beautiful last weekend in the sun.
