This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Is it just me or does that look like a turtle? Probably just me.
I see it, too!
I have a haard time imagining turtle associated with such high up places.
I meant "hard"
I'm sure you're right. It's no doubt a coincidence. But regardless of whether it's meant to be one, it looks much more like a turtle than almost anything I've seen called a turtle in my years around stonework aficianados, with the support stones as legs and the shell-like shape of the supported stone, with the rounded top and straight-ish skirt at the bottom. A natural simulacrum, but a nice one.
