I put up some pictures and thoughts about some stone work around my place in Catskill NY.

This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

The notched stone looks like two separate manitou stones. And the large stone mounds (particularly the first in the series), looks like a platform cairn. Are all in the town of Catskill? Also, I recommend your making a metric stick, divided into 10cm segments, and incorporate that in your photos. How long is the stick in your photos? I can't tell, but I assume it is about 3 feet.
One other question: Are those two manitou stones at one end of a large stone mound, or am I seeing a wall of some kind?
Very nice blog, Matt B! Welcome to the Rock Piles community!
