This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

"Hunter's Blind"? How about a vision quest structure, given its location, size, the reddish triangular stone leaning against the
structure in front and all the cupules?
This one looks to be stacked like snakes and blended into a natural formation maybe?? https://youtu.be/RoaJQq4PRBg
I kind of agree - especially about the red stone propped on the front. But recently I thought I was looking at a vision quest 'U' and decided that the nearby game trail and large amounts of lithic debris were convincing evidence that it actually WAS a hunter's blind.
The referents and associations for stone structures in the west may not follow our east coast ideas. That said, in this case I think it must be ceremonial because there is no evidence of a game trail within throwing distance. The "natural formation" seems deliberately chosen for the view. Speaking of which, I just noticed the mountain in the background.
