This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Walking through wet woods
In the hope of finding something interesting. Here is a stone wall ending. This might have been a rock pile.I imagine the woods I was in were a popular picnic spot in the early 1900's. Not much left from that.

I guess I should say these are from Lowell/Dracut State Forest. Not a particularly wise choice for a Sunday walk - too near a major city.
