This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Stupid Question: farmers in the 1700's farmed on the mountains to avoid the Indians in the valleys. They lined their farms with stone walls and built their farmhouses with stone- these are still present...are these examples??
Information from the 1700's is not really factual. The farmer's might be Indians, the use of the walls might be ceremonial and not for protection. It makes sense to take a good hard look at the actual structures.
