This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
Thank you, Peter. Many if not most of these photos are not mine, I hasten to say. The ones from New York State and Pennsylvania, and any without a credit or at least a click-through link are mine. I am doing this Tumblr primarily as a place to collect quotations related to the topic of the psychoactive landscape, including animism, childhood moments of unity and reverie, and people who ascribe a soul to the earth. I was going to say that it isn't connected with rock piles but of course in a way it is.
