This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Rock on Boulder, etc
Dig those fall colors. What about this one:Like confetti.
Is that a quartz vein just underneath the rock on that boulder? Because it looks like someone had been using the rock to break pieces off the front of that boulder.
I've seen that in several places at the Miner Farm - a rock obviously left by someone who was using it to break off chunks of quartz.

I don't see the quartz you are asking about.
