There are very few petroglyphs in New England. Most of them do not seem quite legit, to this old pair of eyes. The most compelling are little amulets. Pictures on large rocks are rare. Deighton Rock comes to mind....but that was at the edge of a wide sea.

Somebody gave me a photo of some in Oxford CT, faces on a rock where a spring is. They look much like Bellows Falls faces - I'll check my boxes of photos. There are some in Branford near the shore - I'll look up the thing about it in the CT walk book about trails in CT...
