Susquehanna River Archaeological Center of Native Indian Studies (SRAC) recently posted about Spanish Hill. That article was published as the lead article in the New York State Archaeological Society's Newsletter. Click here for the announcement, which contains a link to the pdf version of the NYSAA newsletter and a link to the original blog post.

My favorite is the image from the 1881 map of “Ancient Earthworks East of the Mississippi”. It's sad, how many of them have disappeared.

Google books is just full of free full versions of the works of ARTHUR CASWELL PARKER mentioned in the text. I suspect some interesting things contained in them. Notice I didn't ask if it should be called Mayan Hill...

Leveled hilltops, such as at Spanish Hill, are quite common for Mayan sites.

Example: Xunantunich in Belize.
