This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Actually I think it is a really good thing to arrange rock pile site attributes in such as way as to interpret them as Native American or American Farmer. I also like her emphasizing marginal land as a place where Indian rock piles occur. But I have gotten pretty much used to the idea that most of the rock pile sites are Indian anyway and Mary's criteria are not needed because the burden of proof is on the person claiming piles are from American Farmers.
