This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Another serpentine pile
I had forgotten this one from Acton, in the Nashoba Brook Conservation land off of Davis Rd. Note the nearground there is a triangular "head" rock.. Here is a photo looking down from the head. Barb is at the far end. Here is a sketch:

I seem to remember that Herman Bender suggested that the stone row running North and south in the middle of The Mound Swamp could be a snake, the southern most stone the head.
