The flute really got my attention, so looked into the forum about bones associated with them and found the photo labelled "Location where Hypothesized Flute was Discovered," @

Do you think that's the remnants of a weir??

It could be. A structure like that would get washed away unless maintained, so I think it must have received some recent care.

In such an arid place a wall could also be used to divert water for moisture retention.
