Memorials to the fallen warriors
Another place we visited on Saturday had low ground piles with black-white rock pairs and other piles covered over with dead Juniper. What does juniper have to do with anything? Well I have a theory it was planted next to a rock pile designating where a warrior fell in battle. I get this theory after visiting Kind Phillips Woods in Sudbury if you want to check it out. That is a known battleground and the place has many cedars next to rock piles - enough to catch the eye. These are not burials because so many of the piles are supported on boulders but I really have no idea if they are related to memorials. So take this with a big grain of salt.
