I was really not sure about this one. That is Rt 3 in the background and we are a hundred yards south of the on-ramp to Rt 3 north from Concord Rd in Billerica. The pile is in pretty bad shape and isolated with no other rock piles around. But it is not too far from a small "roadside attraction" site within the cloverleaf of the same on-ramp. So this pile could be part of the same site. I also noticed two rocks on a line passing through the pile about thirty and seventy feet away. Since there were no other rocks around I thought this was probably not a coincidence, further disposing me towards excepting this as a ceremonial pile. This pile is faintly reminiscent of the Stow Turtle [Click here]. So maybe it is worth recording for distributional purposes.
