More about Mulberry Park Georgia from Dan Coy

The "Ravine Loop" at little Mulberry Park is a natural valley with two creeks running through it. The rim of the ravine was probably a great hunting spot for primitive hunters. The stone piles are impressive even the ancient ones that are mostly buried and crumbling. These appear to be arranged almost randomly but they all overlook the little canyon.

There were many more similar stone piles several miles away along the birthplace of the Apalachee River, again on the rim of hills overlooking the creek/river. Before they bulldozed them and put in a golf course, archeologist investigated and determined that those were there long before the Creek and Cherokee inhabited this area.

Those look a lot like "marker piles" (discussed earlier). If I found those piles around here I would look to see if they are in lines or nearly evenly spaced. I would look to see if they were visible as a horizon when viewed from somewhere else. Also, according to Dan Coy's description, these piles are visible from down in the ravine. Maybe there is some more stone work down in there?
