This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.
This blog has previously discussed burial cairns. In a previous posting a woodcut illustration of a rock pile described as a chief's burial was rather enthusiastically referred to as a `smoking gun.' See the February 24, 2006 entry: `Historic Rock Piles - the Smoking Gun'
Yes but that would not draw in visitors.
