Small structures on knolls in Wrentham State Forest (Madison Street)

Wrentham State Forest is full of little knolls of bedrock sticking out above the wet lowlands. There are things to see on most of them. Saw this feature, symmetric, and clearly purposeful.

I would guess that this has something to do with light passing through the slit.

A few yards away on the same knoll:

Makes me think we need a name for this type of thing.

Peter -
I've done a fair amount of prospecting for sites in the Wrentham State Forest. Can you give me GPS coordinates or a USGS map segment for these structures? I think that the first one is vaguely anthropomorphic - I'm reminded of Tim Fohl's female effigy in the swamp behind his house in Carlisle.

Not clear how a structure I located and publicized became "Tim Fohl's female effigy". Maybe he knows who added the "breasts".

[My original photos are on a USB I gave to NEARA.]

Near Madison Str. across from Melanie lane. I'll email a map.
