"Petroform" links

A new day, a new search term. Getting new material on all the search engines using the word "Petroform".

Here is a sadly incomplete web page with photos of Wisconsin Petroforms. Man! They get so excited about a single rock pile. They would tend to lose that attitude after a few minutes in New England. And -yes- I am criticizing this for its lack of mention of things in our area. It seems to lack scholarship for what, on the face of it, is a serious research program.

I remeber reading that this was a "Plains Indian Petroglyph" recalling "The Four Winds;" the four directions with the wind blowing. It's the first Petroform version I ever saw, just yesterday also...

It's also used as a symbol for good luck as can be seen on this coin.

I am going to add that it is a good symbol when the wheel turns clockwise and a bad one when it is counter clockwise.
