Marks on Stones in a Rock Pile
















Near the Thomas Darling House in Woodbridge CT, I came across a rock pile with some possibly marked stones...

Those look sort of "plow-ey" to me because at least some of the scratches get shallower towards the ends. Others scratches have variable width and depth which also suggests plow damage.

Arguing on the other hand: Some of the scratching events appear very localized, even when there were three or more scratches. Do we postulate a plow hitting the rock from the same directions multiple times?

I just really have no idea. It is the only rock pile (one of many), well below what I'd say were the definate clearing piles, where I noticed some marked stones...
