It looks like layed up stonework to me. Especially the lower left of the first picture.

This is about rock piles and stone mound sites in New England. A balance is needed between keeping them secret and making them public. Also arrowheads, stone tools and other surface archaeology.

Very interesting. Perhaps it would be possible to do a visual reconstruction of the site by mapping it carefully and looking at it again in the late fall.
Can't decide - like in many places. What's around it?
A few rock-on-rocks along the edge of the cliff leading to it. Otherwise, an isolated outcrop.
